Alright, so I have not played gw for over 15 months and it looks like there have been some good buffs to some monk skills.

I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some good builds for RA and TA. The ones I have don't work as well as I would like.

Lastly, I prefer protection but can go many ways.

PS: If you have a build using [Shield of Deflection] ... please share

I already looked at wiki... don't like them too much. Plus, there is barley any variety

Get builds from wiki and go to great category and choose one you like.

Still you can make plenty of passable bars in RA. Monks can get away with all sorts of elites thanks to [Patient Spirit]. Prot magic has just been on the down since 1) healing has been buffed quite a bit, and 2) necros have been buffed to be very strong arena characters, who among other things can cheaply [rip enchantment] enchantments every 10s.

My not-amazing but playable SoD build

[build prof=Mo/E pro=12+1+1 hea=10+1 div=8+1][Patient Spirit][Shield of Deflection][Dismiss Condition][Shield of Absorption][Spirit Bond][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Cure Hex][No Skill][/build]

Optional could be [Holy Veil] or [Remove Hex] (in addition or in place of cure), [Vigorous Spirit], [Dwayna's Kiss], or drop dismiss for [Draw Conditions][Mending Touch] combo.
Or you could be brave and drop glyph for another secondary, but good luck with the energy then.

This is my new favorite ByoB/AB build which is not all that different

[build prof=Mo/R pro=12+1+1 div=10+1 wil=8][Reversal of Fortune][Zealous Benediction][Guardian][Draw Conditions][Mending Touch][Spirit Bond][Holy Veil][Natural Stride][/build]

Mostly because NS compression is the only way I can fit a block and speed buff in with draw/mend/SB. Manly monks will run [Distracting Shot] instead of or in addition to this.
